This slideshow exhibits a work of art made on 25 in. by 36 in. white canvas paper, photographed from several different angles. This artwork was created with a base layer of charcoal followed by a layer of scattered pencil marks. This is followed by a layer of small, vertical eraser-marks, followed by a layer of abstract scribbles made with graphite. Next, a layer of larger eraser streaks is added followed by streaks of red acrylic paint. The use of many layers, each building on one another with vertical directionality, allowed me to achieve an entrancing sense of depth in my work
This slideshow exhibits a series of compositions, showing the evolution of work that led to the work in the above slideshow. Each photograph shows a final work of art, allowing viewers to see how this concept evolved over time. Art in this slideshow is made on 16 in. by 24 in. white canvas paper using charcoal, pencil, graphite, eraser, and acrylic paint.
This slideshow shows a series of abstract designs created with black sharpie on 25 in. by 36 in. white canvas paper. The concept for these designs has been refined over several years of study. Through experimentation, I have developed a style of abstraction that entrances viewers with illusions of color and movement. All lines are constructed according to a set of rules: no line may curve more than 360 degrees, no two lines may intersect, no two lines may be constructed such that -- if continued -- they would intersect with an adjacent line at a 90 degree angle.
This slideshow exhibits a series of face studies. Each study blends realism and abstraction, experimenting with altered perspective, depth, and color. Media include colored pencil, wire, watercolor, craypas, and graphite
