Drip Paintings

Picture

To create these paintings, I laid large rolls of paper flat on the floor.

I then dripped and splattered black paint onto the paper from above in several different ways. For some pieces, I walked alongside the paper while letting paint fall from a squeeze bottle in my hand. For others, I flung my arms violently toward the paper while holding a squeeze bottle to increase the velocity at which the paint hit the paper and create wider splatter patterns.

Next, I tilted the paper various directions while the paint was still wet to achieve the dripping effect seen above.
